two rather frightening things happened today, right on top of each other: 1) i was taking the elevator up from the lobby and it gave a great lurch and stopped between the second and third floor, dropping so suddenly that i was floating for a millisecond. i pushed nearly all of the buttons before resigning myself to staring at the light coming in from the third floor at eye level. surely it would...
