I’m thinking about starting an ebooks-only book club. Would you like to join?
Everyone reads the same book on different devices, and then we meet to discuss. Primarily we’ll be talking about the text, of course, but it would be interesting in the short-term to see how the epub renders on different devices, and in the long-term, to see if the screen you read from shapes how you think of different sorts of books.
All devices welcome and encouraged, from smartphones to desktops to ereaders.
If you’re interested, email me with the name of the book you’d like the club to start with in the subject line.
i’m not a book clubber nor an ereader (the other kind, but, also), but this is pretty interesting. most of my ereading would only occur on the subway or in an elevator, where i don’t have an internet connection to distract me. i wonder how standing on a platform or keeping my balance on the train would affect my reading, along with the shorter bursts of reading throughout the day.
