i took a nap on monday and then couldn’t fall asleep monday night. i stayed up until about 3:30, clicking about on the web and clicking through my hard drive looking at old pictures. my siblings and i had been emailing about our annual family vacation, and i had started feeling nostalgic.

for the years when i used to spend two weeks with my best friends in vermont.

for the years when we laughed too hard and filled up disposable cameras with memories.

for the years when the only media consumption we did for two weeks was watching bits* of the ten VHS tapes we brought up on the travel tv when it was raining outside.

*literally, bits. one of those is swordfish, which the boys particularly enjoyed.
