yes, except i’m starting to accept it. drive thru is the name of the place that you drive through, and you describe a restaurant with a drive thru as a drive-through restaurant. it would be a drive-through restaurant because there might be places out there that don’t label their car lane and sliding windows with something that isn’t slightly incorrect, making “drive-through” the term for the action and not the name of the place where the action occurs.
i don’t know why i just wasted time trying to explain that. i’m obsessed with grammar, even though i don’t know all of the rules.
